Behind the Science: Cancer Facts, Figures, and Statistics – 2011

Each year, the American Cancer Society publishes statistics regarding the number of new cancer diagnoses and cancer-related deaths. In this video, the American Cancer Society provides an overview of this years’ statistics. For 2011, the leading cancers in men include prostate, lung, colorectal, and urinary or bladder cancer. The most common for women, on the other hand, include breast, lung, colorectal, and uterine cancer. However, the leading causes for cancer-related deaths differ for men and women.
